Highbrow Reading

20 06 2008

I have a confession to make.  I read People magazine religiously.  I’m talking rarely miss an issue, can’t resist picking up the new copy when I’m grocery shopping religiously.  I even have a method, a plan as it were to the way in which I read each issue.  Shut up, I know I’m weird already thanks.  So here’s the method.   The first time through I peruse all of the pictures and read the captions.  The second time through I read the shorter articles and book reviews, etc.  Finally, on my third time flipping through the magazine I actually read the longer articles.

I’m not really celebrity conscious, I don’t watch award shows, I couldn’t name most of the current “hot” celebrities actually.  But still I read People.  I’m an odd duck I suppose.

Here’s the sad part.  While I read every single issue of People, I have never been able to make it through a single Jane Austin book.  Ever.
